Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions

How much does a certified translation cost?

The price depends on the language, number of pages or words, deadline and any extra steps (apostille, legalization, shipping). That's why we always send a free, fixed quote after seeing your documents.

How long does it take?

A certified translation of a personal document is usually ready in 2 to 3 business days. Apostilles and legalizations depend on the official bodies; the total turnaround is stated in your quote. Express service is available.

What is the difference between an apostille and legalization?

An apostille is a single certificate valid between Hague Convention countries. Consular legalization is a chain of verifications (ministry, Foreign Affairs, embassy) required by all other countries.

Do my documents need translating for Portugal or Brazil?

Usually not: Santomean documents are already in Portuguese. They only need an apostille and sometimes a recent issue date.

Can I handle everything from abroad?

Yes. Send us scans for a quote and, where needed, a power of attorney or authorisation so we can request and process documents in São Tomé and Príncipe on your behalf.

How do I send my documents?

Through the form on this site, by email, or by handing us the originals. Final documents are delivered by hand in São Tomé or sent by express courier.

Is my data protected?

Yes. Documents are used only for your request, handled under professional secrecy and deleted once the work is complete.
