Document apostille in São Tomé and Príncipe
São Tomé and Príncipe is a party to the 1961 Hague Convention Abolishing the Requirement of Legalisation for Foreign Public Documents. A Santomean public document bearing an apostille from the competent authority is therefore accepted directly in the other Convention countries, with no embassy step.
We take care of the whole process: we check that the document can be apostilled (signatures registered, recent issue date where required), submit it to the competent authority, follow up, and return the apostilled document to you — translated if needed. For foreign documents to be used in São Tomé and Príncipe, we obtain the apostille in the country of origin through our network.

Frequently asked questions
Which countries accept an apostille?
All parties to the 1961 Hague Convention — including Portugal, Brazil, Cabo Verde, France, Belgium, Switzerland, Germany, the United Kingdom and the United States. For countries that are not parties (such as Angola, Gabon or Equatorial Guinea) consular legalization is required instead.
Does the translation also need an apostille?
It depends on the country. Sometimes the original is apostilled and then translated; in other cases the translation must also be certified or apostilled. We confirm the right order before starting.
How long does it take?
Usually a few business days, depending on the document type and the competent authority's workload. We state the turnaround in your quote.
