Certified translation in São Tomé and Príncipe
A certified translation is a translation accompanied by a signed statement of accuracy from the translator, confirming that it is a complete and faithful rendering of the original. It is the format required by most embassies, immigration services, universities and civil registries.
In São Tomé and Príncipe we translate Santomean documents for use abroad and foreign documents for use with local authorities. Where the destination country requires a translation by a locally sworn translator, or notarisation of the translation, we arrange it through our international network.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between a certified and a standard translation?
A certified translation includes a signed statement guaranteeing that it matches the original and is accepted by official bodies. A standard translation is for information only.
Does the translation also need an apostille?
It depends on the destination country. Many foreign authorities require the original document — and sometimes the translation itself — to be apostilled or legalized. We always tell you what is needed before we start.
Can I send a photo of my document?
Yes, a clear photo is enough for a quote. For final certification the original or a certified copy may be required, depending on the authority receiving the document.
